Brrr, it’s getting cold out there. Final countdown to Christmas and the start of a New Year. We could all benefit from a little ‘slow time’. What’s better than having a warm beverage on a cold day and sharing the experience with your favorite pet? If you haven’t already discovered how wonderful bone broth is, let us share with you why we, and our animals love it! As the name implies, bone broth is a slow simmer process using bones. A good bone broth should be jiggly like jello. That’s how you know you’ve pulled all the beneficial ingredients out of the bones. Here are just a few things we get from bone broth: Minerals and Vitamins Collagen (gelatin) Protein Hydration Helps/prevents Leaky Gut Syndrome Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and helps give structure to bones, skin and connective tissue. Collagen contains very special biomolecules called glycosaminoglycans, which help to keep us and our pets moving. Some you might recognize are glucosamine, chondroiton, and hyaluronic acid. Has your animal ever had allergies? Hot Spots? Gas? Diarrhea? Many of these symptoms can be traced back to a struggling gut. Leaky Gut Syndrome, which is exactly as it sounds, a condition where toxins are allowed to enter the blood stream through the digestive tract lining. The gelatin in bone broth helps heal this, and helps the digestive tract function better. Many animals, especially cats, suffer with proper hydration. This leads to urinary tract problems, kidney problems and many other associated issues. Bone broth is an excellent way to increase hydration for both cats and dogs by adding it to their food or even a splash to their fresh water everyday to entice drinking. Did we mention that it’s delicious! Most of our own dogs and cats lap it up just as it is! Here are some of our favorite ways to incorporate broth into your pets diet: *Simply pour on top of meals. Broth can be added to any diet. *Warm on the stove top and serve plain as a treat *Freeze in silicone shapes or bowl, and serve as a frozen treat We have 3 amazing selections of broth:
